Bring Italian summer to the table with sun-dried tomatoes in extra virgin olive oil by Frantoio Calvi, the historic olive oil producer of Imperia, Liguria.
The tomatoes ripen and dry in the Italian sun, are cut in half and packed in extra virgin olive oil, so the oil soaks into every piece. Sweet and pleasantly chewy, they are perfect with salads, on bruschetta, with scrambled eggs and in pasta dishes, and they make a lovely gift.
Ingredients: dried tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, salt. After opening, store in the refrigerator.

Ready to use straight from the jar: drain them, and pat dry with a paper towel if you want less oil. Use them in salads, pasta and rice dishes, on bruschetta, chopped with capers in a Caprese salad, stirred into pesto, in sandwiches, risotto and lasagna, or stuffed. The flavor is intense, so a few go a long way.
Once opened, keep the tomatoes covered with oil, topping up if needed.
